The Color of the Week is Orange from Interior Photographer Alex Hayden

The Color of the Week is Orange from Interior Photographer Alex Hayden. The use of orange in interiors is a bold move. Orange is an invigorating color, and it can be a great way to infuse a space with excitement and light. The orange of today is not the same plastic, pleather, orange of the seventies (aka Love American Style). Instead It's brighter and fresher, with more tangerine tones than tomato.  The images below shot by Alex Hayden show how orange can be used as a bold statement color or simply an accent.  Either way the color screams modern and excitement.

Orange, being the combination of red and yellow possesses the properties of both colors. Color experts tell us that yellow is playful, fun and creates a feeling of optimism, while red is an energizing color. Red represents passion, and fire. So orange can give a room a lively, happy feel with a little spice. See how  an orange rug next to the fire place makes the living room below look like a place you'd like to dive  right into. In addition, orange is the color for appetite, which makes it the perfect color for a kitchen or dining room.
