La Brea Bakery Taps Sarah Flotard for Brand Image Campaign
Last summer Seattle food photographer Sarah Flotard joined forces with The Haberman agency to help visually tell the La Brea Bakery story of fresh, handcrafted artisan bread. "We really wanted to show the passion and love that is baked into each loaf of La Brea Bakery bread," says Flotard. "Showing the skill and dedication it takes to make the perfect loaf of bread was a paramount goal in telling the La Brea Bakery story."
Shot at a studio in Los Angeles, Flotard teamed up with food and prop stylist Callie Meyer to photograph some of the company's employees doing what they do best-making bread. "It was an authentic shoot," says Sarah. "These were not beautiful models or stand in chefs, this was the real thing. The bakers bring so much energy and enthusiasm to their craft. It was an honor to work with them." In 1989, La Brea Bakery sparked a bread renaissance, producing artisan, handcrafted bread in their small Los Angeles pastry kitchen. Today, La Brea Bakery has grown to become the top-selling branded artisan bread nationally and the preferred bread of choice for key influencers from chefs to celebrities. The company also owns nine branded bakery cafes around the country.
