Interior Photographer George Barberis Captures the Largest Design Within Reach Store Beautifully

 DWR
Portland-based photographer George Barberis was excited to be asked by Gray Magazine to photograph the largest Design Within Reach showroom in the country. "It was an honor to be chosen to photograph this incredible place," says George Barberis. "The iconic modern furniture, the 300 pendant lighting installation and the 1890's Stagecraft Building itself were a joy to shoot."
 Design Within Reach
George Barberis, known for his wonderful lighting and design sensibility, was a natural choice for the project.
DWR is the largest retailer of authentic modern furniture and accessories in the world, opened its newest and largest retail space in the Pearl District of Portland, Ore. earlier this year. The innovative new 26,000 square foot studio replaces the company's previous location nearby and becomes its largest showroom in North America. Drawing upon local architectural talent, DFA (the New York-based architecture firm) partnered with Portland's Fieldwork Design and Architecture to create an aesthetically elevated Portland House, which draws inspiration from the landscape of the Pacific Northwest. The wood-slatted ceiling and dark wood floor of the partially enclosed environment reflect the warmth and the spirit of the region.
