This Labor Day We're Celebrating a Labor of Love Shot by Sarah Flotard

As the old saying goes, no one works harder than a farmer, except maybe a farmer’s wife. After looking at images from Seattle commercial lifestyle and food photographer Sarah Flotard, we tend to agree. Sarah recently spent a day in Prosser, Washington, at the farm of celebrated Seattle chef Tom Douglas and his wife and business partner, Jackie Douglas. Jackie runs Prosser Farm which supplies local, sustainable, organic ingredients to the couple’s Pacific Northwest restaurant collective.

Jackie was one of the first restaurateurs to bridge the gap between local farmers, producers and restaurants, making the dream of farm to table a reality. It was important for Sarah as the photographer to show that connection: “We set out to show the working farm, the summer crops, the weather – it was hot, hot, hot – and the beauty of the land. I’ve been out with Jackie before and it’s always inspiring to see her relationship with the land and capture her attention to what’s around her,” says Sarah.

Sarah’s Prosser Farm images will accent the interior of Seattle’s iconic Dahlia Lounge this fall. Take a look at more of Sarah’s work at www.sallyreps.com or www.sarahflotard.com.
