Ian Coble Contributes to NY Times Multi-Media Story: Snow Fall – The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek

Last month The New York Times showed the world that journalism isn't what it used to be with its multi-media feature story: Snow Fall – The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek. – A groundbreaking interactive report on the shocking avalanche that took place last winter at Stevens Pass Resort in the Pacific Northwest.  The tragedy claimed the lives of 3 highly experienced skiers

The epic story appeared both in the physical paper and online.  The online version with its embedded videos, images,charts,graphs and weather simulation made the story come to life in a way that a two dimensional newspaper could never deliver. The account was a realistic reminder of the power and wonder of nature and our obsession with experiencing it.
