Seattle Central Announces Annual Portfolio Show

I never cease to be amazed at the high caliber of work that comes out of this program! The Commercial Photography and Graphic Design programs at Seattle Central Community College recently announced their annual portfolio show coming up on June 15 and 16.

This program is simply amazing. Not only are they equipped with the latest and greatest technology and equipment, they also have gargantuan studio space, and faculty with extensive industry experience. But what really sets this program apart is the stunning quality and variety of work they produce. This school could easily rival any other in the country public or private. Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious. It's clear that these guys are passionate about their work. Yesterday, I had the privilege of getting a sneak peek at a few of the photography students' portfolios.

I got to meet some great portrait, lifestyle, and editorial photographers. Conrado Tapado, whose work features real people in real environments has such a gift for connecting with his subjects. Brad Curran's "stacked" images and Paige Garland's fashion shots, also demonstrated great style.

Product photographers Sahara Coleman and Casey Lam showed great skill at using dramatic lighting, while Kimberly Swedelius and Olivia Brent made use of beautiful, natural lighting.

Sadly, I ran out of time and didn't get to see as much as I wanted to. However, I'm super excited to see at the official opening of their portfolio show in a couple of weeks. I highly recommend you check it out too! June 15 and 16 at Seattle Central Community College. For more information check out http://2011.sccaportfolioshow.com/
